         <title>From the Office of the District Superintendent</title>
         <description><![CDATA[  <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 10pt">January 9, 2007</span></p>  <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 10pt">&nbsp;</span></p>  <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 10pt">Dear MSAD71 Parents, Staff and Members of the Kennebunk  High School Student Body, </span></p>  <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 10pt">&nbsp;</span></p>  <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 10pt">On Tuesday afternoon, January 8, high school officials were notified of an alleged threat made toward Kennebunk High School. The police were immediately notified and took action. Through deliberations with them, and due to the fact that the suspect was apprehended and detained, we decided to hold school today. We continue to be in constant communication with our police department to monitor the situation and assure student and staff safety.</span></p>  <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 10pt">&nbsp;</span></p>  <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 10pt">We are thankful for the immediate and thoughtful response by our law enforcement agents in assisting us in keeping our school safe.          <title>Welcome to 4th grade 2007-2008</title>
         <description><![CDATA[<h3><img width="56" height="149" border="0" alt="Birdhouse.gif" src="http://www.kport.org/Pennington/Birdhouse.gif" />Welcome to all families of Consolidated 4th graders.&nbsp; In our classroom we are working on dictionary skill - location, pronunciation key, part of speech, and choosing an understandable meaning.&nbsp; Each week everyone's&nbsp; vocabulary development is enhanced through a program called <u>Wordly Wise</u>.&nbsp; Spelling tests will be given on Friday mornings. Additionally, poetry opens our reading activities.</h3><h3> Finally, there are many skills with math that are worked on, all of which require quick use on math facts.
