A huge round of applause from all of us to all who organized and participated in Do Wop Wed Widing Hood! Once again this year the Port Players did an amazing job under the direction of Jeni Kingston! Everything was terrific! From the beautiful set and the wonderful costumes to the acting, singing and dancing, we were all so impressed! A kindergarten through grade five production is truly challenging but so incredibly worthwhile! Many thanks to Jeni and all the parent volunteers that made this possible! Final performances of Do Wop Wed Widing Hood will be held on April 8th at 9:00 and at 1:00.
STUFF THE BUS items can still be sent into school with your child through April 11th.
There are boxes in some of the classrooms as well as one in the main hall outside of the office. Thank you for your support. We will officially be STUFFING THE BUS on the morning of April 11th! And just a reminder: KINDERGARTEN: RAMEN NOODLES FIRST GRADE: PANCAKE SYRUP SECOND GRADE: SOUP THIRD GRADE: TUNA FISH FOURTH GRADE: BEEF STEW OR COMPLETE MEALS FIFTH GRADE: JELLY. They are also looking for the following items: tooth brushes, toothpaste, dish soap and paper towels.
Congratulations to the fourth grade band and the fourth grade and multiage 4/5 classes for a great concert on Wednesday! They all did a terrific job! A special thank you to Mr. Saunders, Mrs. Cherry and Mrs. Doe!
There’s quite a bit of “lost and found” near the gym entrance…it will soon be leaving so you may want to take a look.
The Community House invites everyone to their monthly Dine and Learn Series. Look for the flyer in Red Folders!
Help! Mrs. Hirst is looking for parent volunteers to help cover the office from 12:00 to 1:00 on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. If you are available and would like to help, please give her a call at 967-5998. Thanks!
As you may know, we have had a wonderful class of students this year learning to play the violin…a very difficult instrument! After a lot of practice, they are ready to perform, and this will happen as a Showcase at Friday Morning Meeting on April 11th. I also want to take this opportunity to thank Linda Swift, their teacher, for all her hard work with the group, and Tom Battles, a teacher at MSK, who arranged this experience for our students. We are really appreciative! Please try to join us for FMM on April 11th!
Remember…it’s not yet spring on the playground!! Hats, mittens and boots still needed!
But Spring IS coming and with it returns our Walk To School Fridays!!! Beginning the Friday after vacation, you can meet in the North Street parking lot at 7:50 and join the group walking to school!!
The KCPTA blog is up and running! Don’t forget to subscribe and you will receive all notices from our wonderful parent group. Access the blog through our website.
