KENNEBUNKPORT CONSOLIDATED SCHOOL’S FRIDAY’S NEWS:

January 18, 2008

REMINDER: The KCPTA rolling food drive is continuing! The selection for January is KID’S LUNCH BOX ITEMS. Suggestions include: peanut butter, Fluff, packages of crackers, pudding, fruit snacks, apple sauce, etc. The drop off box is in the lobby. Many thanks for supporting this worthy cause!

Please remember that everyone needs to check in the office before entering the school. We ask that parents not to go to classrooms unless they have a specific appointment to meet with the teacher or to volunteer. This is an effort to have our instructional time as uninterrupted as possible. Thank you!

We want to welcome Regina Birdsell and Helen Rist to Kennebunkport Consolidated School. They are visiting today in preparation for our New England Association of Schools and Colleges accreditation team visit in April. Regina will be chairing the seven member team, and Helen will be co-chairing. We hope they enjoy visiting our school!

We want every student to feel safe and to belong in our schools. To

help us continue our work toward this goal we have invited Stan Davis,

Maine school counselor and nationally known speaker and author about

bullying prevention to meet with our students, our staff, and our

parents on February 5th. He will be meeting with students by grade level

through the day to talk about what peer bystanders can do to help

bullied and isolated young people. He will be doing a K-5 staff training at Sea Road School from 3:30-4:30, summarizing the core interventions that work to make schools more welcoming places for all students. From 6:30-8:30 at Kennebunk Elementary School he will present a parent program focusing on what parents can do to raise children who are both resilient and responsible. Please mark your calendars!
