November 2, 2007

This year the KCPTA is coordinating a FOOD-DRIVE-A-MONTH for local food banks. A monthly theme has been chosen based on the suggested needs of the food bank. Please consider sending in one or two items with your child each month. There is a box in the lobby for contributions. We hope to have a strong on-going response as this will benefit people locally.

For November: SIDE DISHES: boxed mashed potatoes, instant rice, canned potatoes, veggies or fruit, stuffing, baked beans, mac and cheese, etc. Thanks for your support!!!

Some of you may not know that we have a class of violin players at Kennebunkport Consolidated this year! Thanks to Tom Battles, Resource Room teacher at MSK, who organized this, we have 11 students, K through grade 4, taking weekly violin lessons! They are also joined by 3 adults! This is very exciting and we are all looking forward to hearing about their progress. Many thanks to Tom for all the work he did to bring this about! We are grateful!

We had a bit of excitement this past week when a fox started hanging out on the hill during the day. We have been notified that the fox is no longer in the vicinity of the school.

The KCS Math Team had their first meet this week, and had a great time! Thanks to Mrs. Glynn and the parents who attended with them! We hope they have a great experience throughout the year.

Mrs. D’Iorio is looking for gently used sweatpants…any size…for kids who may need a change of clothing after recess. It’s muddy out there! Also, if we have any parents who are nurses and would like to substitute, please give Donna a call at Consolidated. Thanks!
