Merry Christmas to all of you! I hope you all have a wonderful holiday vacation with you awesome children! I will miss them all over vacation and I will look forward to seeing them upon our return in 2008.
This week we learned about other December holidays and traditions. We stayed in a routine which kept the kids focused. We also had a lot of fun. They are great kids. Nancy
We have started our celebration on different holidays traditions. This week we really focused on Hanukkah and Kwanzaa. We learned how Hanukkah began with oil lasting 8 days. We made a dreidel and talked about some of the other traditions. We learned about Kwanzaa and how African Americans do different things each night -they tell stories, sing, dance, cook, etc. On the last night, they buy one big family present with money that they have saved all year. We will learn about other holidays including Christmas next week.
Please pack an additional snack and drink for your child on Friday, December 21st. We will have math after lunch and then we will have an extra snack with some fun things to do to end the day before our vacation. If possible, it is helpful if you separate or label that additional snack so they do not eat it earlier in the day.
Enjoy this time with your children! They are such a joy! Thank you, Nancy
Please don't forget that students at Consolidated go out to recess almost EVERYDAY! The only exception is if the windchill falls below a certain amount or if it is raining hard. Please be sure that your child is dressed for playing in the snow. Their snow clothes and boots should be ones that they can easily put on and off. The students have a great time sledding down the hill with soft roll up sleds and cannot enjoy that unless they have all their snow clothing. So, please be sure that your child is dressed appropriately everyday to enjoy the winter weather. Thanks, Nancy
School has been cancelled today due to the snow storm. Any conferences scheduled for today will be rescheduled for later on in the week, how about Thursday? I will be in touch to reschedule your conference. Enjoy the day home with your child. Nancy
