Tuesday, noon, is the last day of the 2007-2008 school year. Your third graders will move on up to fourth grade. Some will go to Ms. Miller and others to Mr. Chapman. It's a "win-win" situation! Students will have "Step-up" meeting with their next year's teacher mid-morning of the last day of school.

Our summer birthday and vacation celebration last Friday afternoon was replete with delectable snacks, including a fabulously decorated cake created by Mrs. Saunders. The theme was camping with each birthday celebrant honored with an individually decorated "sleeping bag." There were pine trees and even a "bonfire" in the center! By the way, the cake was delicious as well! Thanks to all who sent in the wonderful array of goodies; and thank you once again, Ms. McGannon, for all the calls.

We couldn't have asked for better weather for our field trip to Maine Wildlife Park in Gray. Before wandering the park, we all were educated about the "Life of the Loon" by an expert Game Warden. It appeared that everyone had a fun day.

Mrs. Boyd and I have planned a "scale" walk of the Solar System if we can fit it in on Monday (and if the weather cooperates). We have cards with poppy seeds, mustard seeds, marbles, garbanzo beans, even a grain of sand to represent the planets.

Hope you all enjoyed a good Father's Day -- the Red Sox won; now for the Celtics! I know that would make for a spectacular Father's Day at my house!

If this is the final blog, I want to thank you for the privilege of getting to know you and your children this year.
