Author Visit
Cynthia Furlong Reynolds presented A Writer’s Toolbox to students in grades 4 -5. She reminded each of us that we have all the resources we need to be writers: imagination, curiosity, observation, language and time. She emphasized the editing process, noting that she spends about 95 minutes editing for each 5 minutes of writing. Integrating Reynolds’ ideas with the district’s Step Up to Writing curriculum provides a strong writing foundation for our students. The toolboxes are ready to go!
