April

We have been so busy in the artroom with the new kiln and storage closet, many of the children have been learning hand building techniques such as coil and slab construction and pinch pots. Wait until you see what the first grade students in Mrs. Tushin's room have done with their pinch pots! We have been firing our pots, boxes and other containers and the new kiln is absolutely wonderful! Thank you again to the PTA! The older children are working as graphic designers right now. They are designing a word play and learning about the role of a graphic designer. They have also have been working on the Doodle for Google project. The younger grades have been finishing up their study on architecture and Frank Lloyd Wright. Next we will focus on African visual art in anticipation of Michael Wingfield's visit beginning the 28th. Please stay tuned for more on upcoming projects!
