Febraury is already here and we only have a few art classes this month due to vacation! We have been focusing on color, landscapes and space this term and please come see the children's art work in the halls! The 4/5 and fifith grade students are displaying their finished paper mache dragons by the office- very creative and imaginative! Third grade landscapes are also hanging up and add a real gallery feel to our halls! Plenty more to come see too! In February, the children will be focusing on texture and pattern, both exciting elements of design. The first graders already finished their texture cats that are hanging in the art room and the 1/2 and second grade students are working on a texture collage that is inspired by Gustav Klimt's Baby Cradle painting. Kindergarten children have finished their warm and cool color study and are now working on Valentine's Day texture collages and third grade students are also building collages that include both illusionary texture as well as real texture!
